James Dashner and Thomas same person?
Everything Dashner always wanted to be is everything that Thomas is. In my point of view. Dashner himself said "I wish I were as brave as Thomas was when I was a child". Thomas represents Dashner wanting to be fearless, brave, and courageous. After investigating alot I beleive that it's clear that Thomas was written to be the person that Dashner always wanted to be and I beleive that is why his character is really deep and well detailed . you can tell how much time and thought was put into his character. |
James Dashner during The Scorch Trials:
James Dashner had just finished one of his series called The Jimmy Fincher Saga which had many rejections from publishers until Cedar Fort accepted his manuscript and from there his writing career was beginning to take form. Right after that his book The Journal of Curious Letters received a borders original pick in 2008 aslo know as The 13th Reality a year from when he wrote his first series, almost immediately Dashner started writing his next trilogy The Maze Runner. Which he has a mention in his book that hisbook was written for his children. Throughout the writing of The Scorch Trials James Dashner took much inspiration from his home state of Georgia especially the enviorment he lived in when he was young. Georgia's intense heat and bright scorching sun gave him the idea of the flare (disease) and the scorch. You can say that he based the book off his chilhood cause he also mentioned that he put some of his personal experiences in his book(s). While creating the Maze Runner series Dashner also took much inspiration from William Golding's The Lord of the Flies and Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game and even the T.V . show Lost. |
